Galapagos Post 4/14/24
Our guides have been encyclopedic in the way they have delivered the learning on this trip. It would be a veritable curriculum, coupled with the outdoors and hands-on participation if we recorded and transcribed to text, they’re onsite teaching. Every on site location is a 20 minute or more teaching situation and then the learning reinforced when we can taste, touch, smell, the objects in the outdoor classroom. I’m pretty sure most students have never pulled a coffee bean from a bush or picked a banana from a tree or could distinguish between a guava tree and a coconut tree until today. And although the students may not be able to articulate all their learning in a paper or a blog, we can be assured that this trip’s memory will be forever etched in them, and someday they will be able to recollect and reflect on their experiences and share them. - By Craig Suttie
